Kristian studied at The Royal Academy of Music (Aarhus) and at Northwestern University (Chicago) with Vincent Cichowicz and Arnold Jacobs. He took his Diploma in 1992.
Kristian was offered a post at The Royal Academy of Music (Aarhus) in 1993, becoming Associate Professor in 2000.
