How to Practice Banjo
What could be more practical and useful than to receive guidance on the one subject that will ultimately define your overall ability and success with learning this fun, but sometimes tricky instrument?
Ross takes you through one time saving tip after another and shows you tricks he has helped students with for over 30 years. He covers many aspects of practicing banjo and how to get real results, simply and fast. There is so much to work on but with all of us having limited time this could be the best banjo instruction investment you could make. Learn how split your practice time into separate areas of practice, left hand, right hand, exercises, how to work through the hard parts and get results. In one of the valuable lessons in this course, Ross teaches you how to quickly learn a song from tablature so you can learn and retain it quickly, play by memory and pick the song without looking at tab.
Playing in the Keys of C, D, E, F & G Up the Neck
Learning how to play in other keys than G when learning banjo is an important part of your banjo learning experience. Ross simplifies this difficult transition and makes it easy to transpose what you know to these other keys.
One of the keys to playing in different keys on the banjo is learning to play melodies from the D shape or form. Ross takes you through. several songs playing them in the keys of C, D, E, F and G up the neck all using the D chord form. He points out the differences in each key and how to adapt quickly. Knowing where the commonly used melody notes are in these shapes really simplifies this task and makes what may have seemed overwhelming more easily attainable.
This course is for intermediate players and a must for students who are beginning to play with others and don’t want to be stuck in the key of G forever.
